Gareth Ellis was voted in as local District Councillor for Flitton, Greenfield and Pulloxhill Ward in Mid Bedfordshire District Council in 2007. He was the first Green Party Councillor to be elected in the area. He has since stood as Green Party candidate for the new Unitary Council. He is currently a Parish Councillor for Flitton and Greenfield Parish Council.

About Me
- Gareth Ellis
- I have lived in Flitton since 1995. I am married with children who attend the local schools. I have been a school governor at Greenfield Lower School for the last nine years, a Parish Councillor for the last four years and a District Councillor on Mid Beds District Council. I studied at Cranfield University a while ago later qualifying as a Chartered Engineer and having spent the last 30 years promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency am currently the Energy Manager for the University.

The Big Green Challenge would be a great way of engaging the local community and reducing our CO2 emissions.
I really like the idea of the challenge because it will strengthen the local community. Energy saving can be fun!
